Tunnelbird asks for nothing and keeps nothing about you.

The app

  • No account, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising.
  • While a tunnel carrying all your traffic is connected, Tunnelbird asks ifconfig.co, through the tunnel, for your public address and its approximate location, to show where you appear to be. This reveals nothing more than any website sees.
  • Once a day, installs made with the script or from a downloaded package ask this site for the latest version number. Nothing about you is sent, and Preferences can turn it off.
  • Your tunnels and keys stay in your system's network settings, readable by the system only.
